Qualifications:

Reports to:

Supervisor of Early Childhood

Job Goal:

Assist the Classroom Teacher in developing and implementing activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and academic development of children, under the teacher's guidance.

Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Assist in maintaining records on each child's progress and development
  2. Implement district standards, policies, procedures, and regulations in the preschool program
  3. Participate in team meetings, center activities, and staff development
  4. Review and support the development of individual growth plans for children
  5. Maintain a safe, organized, and attractive classroom environment
  6. Develop positive relationships with children and promote self-esteem and discipline
  7. Assist in planning and implementing daily activities based on child development principles
  8. Observe children daily to assess skills, interests, and needs
  9. Establish positive communication with families
  10. Assist in staff/parent conferences
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
Physical Capabilities:
  • Work mainly in a classroom environment; may include outdoor activities
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • Stand up to 95% of the day
  • Perform activities such as jumping, dancing, walking, and running for extended periods
  • Respond quickly to emergency situations
  • Be flexible and adapt to changing environments and needs
Terms of Employment:

Full Time – 10 Months
