Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an Anticipated Middle School Science Teacher to join Deptford Middle School. The role starts ASAP with a starting salary range of $68,570 to $73,570, based on degree level within the current CBA.

The teacher will plan engaging lessons, foster a positive classroom, and collaborate with parents and specialists to meet district goals while upholding policies and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Holds or is eligible for a New Jersey Instructional certificate in specific areas or grades to be taught.
• Highly Qualified in specific areas as required by the New Jersey Department of Education.

Responsibilities

• Plans lessons that strive to meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Guides the learning program toward the achievement of district and school goals and objectives.
• Employs instructional methods and achievement in accordance with established standards of proficiency.
• Promotes student learning and achievement in accordance with established standards of proficiency.
• Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis, keep appropriate records, and provides progress reports, as required.
• Confers, as necessary and desirable, with parents/guardians.
• Identifies the learning needs of students on a regular basis, seeking assistance of district specialists, when appropriate.
• Assists in curriculum development, in the selection of books, equipment and other instructional materials, and maintains required records.
• Attends staff meetings and serves, as appropriate, on staff committees.
• Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and board policy.
• Maintains professional development and growth.
• Maintains ethical and professional behavior in working with students, parents, school personnel and other agencies.
• Performs duties which are within the scope of his/her employment and certification as assigned by his/her supervisor in accordance with N.J. State Law, State Board of Education Rules and Regulations, Deptford Township Board of education policies, and contractual obligations.

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
