Anticipated Elementary Teacher (Grades 3-5) 2025-2026

SUMMARY

A teacher provides a developmentally appropriate educational program for students. The teacher is responsible for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators to improve instruction; and engaging parents/guardians in conversations with regard to instructional programs and student progress.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
  • Creates and maintains an effective and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children
  • Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal classroom climate
  • Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities to improve instruction and become up to date on district initiatives
  • Assesses student progress towards learning targets, objectives, and expectations
  • Collects data to document student progress and aid in planning
  • Provides feedback on progress to students, parents, and administration
  • Holds parent conferences in the fall and spring to discuss individual student progress
  • Instructs students in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and an anti-bullying curriculum
  • Prepares daily lessons and activities
  • Provides targeted intervention to close student learning gaps
  • Attends and participates in faculty meetings
  • Responsible for implementing "other job related duties" as needed
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the teacher is frequently required to kneel, stoop, bend, and crouch. The teacher is periodically required to stand, talk, and listen. The teacher is occasionally required to sit, walk, lift, or carry. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function. Rarely absent or late unless the situation is of an emergency nature.
