Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated library media specialist who understands the developmental and academic needs of elementary students and is committed to ensuring all students learn.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and maintaining relationships with colleagues and the community, recognizing that school libraries are central to the school environment.
  2. Building a comprehensive library program for students and staff.
  3. Serving as a technology support and innovator within the school.
  4. Managing library operations for effective material circulation, service coordination, and instruction.
  5. Supporting student achievement through library resources and activities.
  6. Differentiating instruction for diverse learning needs.
  7. Applying knowledge of learning standards, especially in complex texts and close reading.
  8. Teaching essential skills such as Microsoft Office, research techniques, internet research, source evaluation, catalog searches, keyboarding, and fostering reading appreciation.
  9. Facilitating access to research resources for students and staff.
  10. Encouraging exploration through print and online resources.
  11. Collaborating on curriculum aligned with Next Generation standards.
  12. Utilizing research in enrichment education with a focus on Technology & Innovation in Education.
