The Carlisle Area School District is currently seeking candidates to fill a full-time Elementary Special Education Autism Support Teacher position available for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is located at Mt. Holly Elementary School. As an Autism Support Teacher, you will work closely with students who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Your responsibilities will include creating and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), providing specially designed instruction and support, collaborating with speech therapists, occupational therapists, behavior specialists, and other professionals to coordinate interventions, monitoring progress, addressing the diverse needs of students, and establishing a classroom atmosphere that fosters understanding, acceptance, and inclusion, while also providing structure, consistency, and sensory accommodations.
Overall, your role is instrumental in creating an inclusive and supportive educational environment where elementary level students with autism can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As an Autism Support Teacher, you serve as a dedicated advocate for students with autism and their families, ensuring they have access to the necessary resources and support services to achieve their educational goals.
