The Salvation Army in Cincinnati is seeking a part-time Anti-Human Trafficking Crisis and Intake Specialist to respond to hotline and crisis requests as part of a 24 hour on-call schedule. Responsibilities

  • Respond as initial point of contact and emergency responder for victim services.
  • Field hotline calls and implement a response.
  • Provide rotating 24 hour emergency response and comprehensive initial case management/intake.
  • Assess immediate needs and conduct intakes.
  • Coordinate with the Child Advocacy Center, law enforcement, Child Welfare, Juvenile Court, Off the Streets, Municipal Court, Probation Services and other systems to support victims.
  • Utilize Salvation Army and other resources to ensure immediate needs are met (housing, clothing, food, medical and mental health care).
  • Develop safety and service plans with the victim.
  • Provide shelter-based/home-based case management to help clients meet goals.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and timely reports.
  • Participate in other service programming and complete other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

REPORTS TO: Anti-Human Trafficking Crisis and Intake SpecialistSUPERVISES: None.STATUS: Non-Exempt.SCHEDULE: Part-time. Must be available to be on-call for human trafficking emergencies as scheduled.FUNCTION: This position is responsible for responding to hotline and crisis response requests as a part of a 24 hour emergency on call schedule.

Responsibilities

DUTIES:

  • Support provision of emergency response and short-term comprehensive care for domestic and LPR victims of sex and labor trafficking identified in by law enforcement, as a part of the court programming with juvenile and adult court justice systems, through social service or health providers, and other identified victims.
  • Serving as an initial point of contact and emergency responder for victim services at The Salvation Army.
  • Field hotline calls and implement a response.
  • Providing rotating 24 hour emergency response and comprehensive initial case management/intake.
  • Assessment immediate needs and conduct intakes.
  • Assist with the coordination with the Child Advocacy Center, law enforcement, Child Welfare, Juvenile Court, Off the Streets, Municipal Court, Probation Services and other systems and organizations to support the victim in leaving the trafficking situation and receiving needed services.
  • Utilization of Salvation Army and other resources to ensure that the victim’s immediate needs are met, including safe temporary housing, clothing, food, medical care and mental health care.
  • Development of a safety plan and a service plan in coordination with the victim.
  • Limited-time provision of shelter-based/home-based case management to help the client achieve the goals outlined in the service plan. Although plans will vary based on individual needs, these activities may include but are not limited to permanent housing, legal assistance, working with law enforcement, employment, counseling, linkage to benefits.
  • Maintenance of accurate and timely case notes.
  • Timely completion of reports.
  • Participate in other service programming, as needed.
  • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s Degree in social service field. Some coursework in social work or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working with victims of human trafficking is preferred. Experience working with victims of other traumatic crimes, such as domestic violence or sexual assault is required.
  • Successfully obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards, including maintaining access to a personal vehicle and insurance coverage for transportation needs related to this position. Mileage reimbursement will be utilized where appropriate.
  • Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
