Job description

Role Summary

URBN is looking for a Product Development Coordinator - Upholstery to support the daily operational functions of the upholstery and furniture team in all aspects of product development. In this role you will be responsible for following through with the collections from inception until the style is approved or dropped and maintaining key cross functional relationships with internal partners.

Role Responsibilities
  • Read, understand, and follow the department calendar. Ensure deadlines are met to actualize the seasonal calendar successfully.
  • Coordinate, assign, and schedule appropriate meetings, according to development calendar
  • Analyze development line plans and report workflow needs
  • Create and maintain accurate product development WIP report, create POs and non-merch POs for sampling, track and ensure on time sample delivery and set up for meetings.
  • Monitor style creation in Tradestone and communicate style information to vendors
  • Work proactively with vendors and agents to ensure development samples meet the needs of the business regarding brand aesthetic, cost and timing
  • Communicate issues proactively
  • Manage sample tracking and sample approvals seasonally
  • Execute and deliver on tasks and small projects as guided by manager
  • Professionally communicate via email and in person with cross functional partners

Role Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in Upholstery or Case goods product development required
  • Knowledge of furniture construction and manufacturing experience preferred
  • Understanding of raw materials; woods, metals, textile, and finishes required
  • Knowledge of product packaging and product testing
  • Logistics, supply chain management experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Listens actively and asks appropriate questions to gain knowledge.
  • Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel Skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and multiple tasks.
  • Manage time effectively
