Responsibilities :
- Oversee Daily Operations : Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the antepartum unit, ensuring smooth operations and high-quality patient care.
- Labor and Delivery, care of pregnant mothers in early delivery
- Staff Supervision : Lead, support, and mentor nursing staff, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and promoting professional development.
- Patient Care Oversight : Ensure comprehensive care for patients with high-risk pregnancies, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams for optimal care.
- Quality Control and Compliance : Monitor and enforce adherence to clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines to ensure quality care delivery.
- Administrative Duties : Manage scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation while handling patient admissions, discharges, and care coordination.
Requirements :
- Active New York State Registered Nurse (RN) License.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing, (BSN)
- MSN required
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical RN experience, some high-risk maternal child experience required
- Specialty certifications for Antepartum Nurse Manager :
- Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) : A certification for nurse managers that demonstrates leadership and management skills.
- Inpatient Obstetric Nursing Certification (RNC-OB) : Recognized certification for nurses specializing in obstetric care, particularly in high-risk pregnancies.
- Maternal Newborn Nursing Certification (RNC-MNN) : A certification that reflects expertise in maternal and newborn care, including antepartum care.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) : Essential for those managing care in maternity units, ensuring the ability to handle neonatal emergencies.
- Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) : While not required for all Antepartum Nurse Managers, this certification can be useful in units focusing on maternal and infant health.
- BLS Certification
- Day Shift : 7 AM- 3 : 30 PM every other weekend, evening shift
