Job description

Hybrid: This means the successful candidate is expected to report to their primary location (Mountain View, CA OR Warren, MI) three times per week, at minimum.

The Role:

The role will work with MiMo cellular networks, radar, and other technologies that use radio waves.

The automotive wireless space is a challenging and exciting field with an ever-increasing demand for high-performance wireless interfaces, including MIMO 5G, WiFi 7, high-performance GNSS, V2X, BLE, UWB, NTN, and traditional broadcast technologies. Connected vehicle customer experience is strongly influenced by the delivery of optimized RF solutions that need to balance styling, aerodynamics, cost, and performance. With the rapid growth of these technologies, it has become fundamental for original equipment vehicle manufacturers to design and develop solutions that meet the needs of advanced vehicle programs.

In this role, the candidate will be hands-on in designing, developing, and tuning core antenna technologies that enable advancements in performance, cost reduction, physical antenna volume, and fast-to-market capabilities.

What You’ll do:

  1. Lead design efforts for RF structures and subsystem assemblies for 5G 4x4 MIMO, L1/L5 GNSS, SXM, V2X, and BLE antenna technologies.
  2. Conduct simulations and develop prototypes to refine antenna designs.
  3. Analyze and test designs to ensure performance and reliability.
  4. Predict assembly-level performance by selecting materials, components, and packaging approaches; perform RF chain analysis, electromagnetic simulations, data collection and analysis, and other modeling techniques.
  5. Collaborate directly with component-level design peers to integrate designs into modules and vehicle-level applications.
  6. Work with cross-functional teams such as Mechanical, PCB Layout, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Test.
  7. Lead prototyping efforts using additive manufacturing, rapid tooling, and PCB design to fabrication.
