Job summary

Antcom, a Hexagon Group subsidiary, is seeking an Antenna Engineer in Torrance, CA to design, simulate, validate, and field high-performance GNSS and wireless antennas. You will work on patch, stacked patch, helix, and array designs, perform measurements in VNAs and anechoic chambers, and partner with suppliers and manufacturing for scalable production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; MSEE or PhD preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• Experience with 3D EM simulation software (HFSS preferred).
• Experience working with network analyzers and RF test equipment.
• Experience testing antenna radiation patterns.
• Understanding of antenna design for production and real-world environments.
• ITAR/EAR compliance restrictions apply; US Persons or eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support antenna products with emphasis in GPS/GNSS, patch, stacked patch, helix, and array antennas.
• Evaluate performance: gain, efficiency, bandwidth, impedance matching, radiation patterns, and polarization.
• Conduct measurements using vector network analyzers (VNAs) and anechoic chambers.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure manufacturability, repeatability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Provide technical guidance on antenna placement, grounding, shielding, keep-out zones, and mechanical constraints.
• Perform occasional PCB layout modifications to support antenna integration and RF circuit implementation.
• Analyze new business opportunities, draft technical proposal responses, and estimate project schedules and costs.
• Improve product manufacturing through test automation and automated data analysis.
• Lead testing and documentation of product performance against MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, DO-228, DO-301, and DO-160.
• Lead root cause analysis investigations and champion corrective actions.
