Job summary

Long Wave Inc. is seeking an early- to mid-career RF Engineer to own antenna design for Department of War programs.

The role targets engineers with several years of experience or advanced degrees who can develop RF subsystems, manage requirements, perform tests, and document results. Key responsibilities include leading antenna development, shaping RF system architecture, documenting interfaces and test artifacts, and performing lab and field tests.

Qualifications

• Minimum: B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• US Citizenship and eligibility for DoW clearance is required.
• Experience with RF Systems including design, analysis, production, or test.
• Strong technical writing skills for formal test documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead antenna design and development for RF subsystems.
• Contribute to RF system architecture and product direction.
• Generate and maintain technical documentation and test artifacts.
• Troubleshoot differences between simulated and measured performance.
• Perform lab and field testing of components and demonstrate products.

Primary Function:

Long Wave Inc. isseekinganearly- ormid-careerRF Engineerto take ownership ofantennadesignfor Department ofWar(DoW) programs. This role is suited for engineers with several years of experienceor advanced degree(s)whocan develop RF subsystems, manage requirements, perform tests, and document the results.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. AntennaDesignand Development:Lead thedesign anddevelopmentof antenna components.
2. RF System Architecture:Providemajor inputsto RF system architecture and shape the future ofRF productsat Long Wave Inc.Provide technicalinputsin system architecture and integration.Supportkey design decisions, conduct trade studies, and ensure solutions meet performance and safety standards.
3. Technical Documentation:Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, interface definitions, and test artifacts, for internal and customer use.
4. Troubleshooting:Performtroubleshootingto analyze the differences between simulated and measured performance and behavior.
5. Testing:Performlab and fieldtestingof designed components.Helpdemonstrate products and view each test as an opportunity to find new improvements.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions:

Employeewill be working within an office environment.Employeemay be expected to travel on occasion(up to 20%)to locations where specific PPE or attire is necessary.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience withantennamodelingsoftwaresuch as HFSS or XFDTD
• Experience analyzing antenna systems
• Experience withhighpowerelectronics
• Experienceusing RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and power meters
• Experience working withsystemsengineersand other engineering specializationsin a cross-functional team.Experience with Came Systems Modeler (orsimilarMBSE tool)

• This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
