Job summary

Long Wave Inc. is seeking an early- to mid-career RF Engineer to own antenna design for Department of War programs. The role focuses on RF subsystems, requirements management, testing, and documentation within an office setting with occasional travel up to 20%.

Candidates should have RF systems experience, strong writing skills, and the ability to work with systems engineers in a cross-functional team. US citizenship and DoD clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with RF systems including design, analysis, production, or test.
• Strong technical writing skills to produce formal test documentation and reports.
• B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with antenna modeling software such as HFSS or XFDTD.
• Experience analyzing antenna systems.
• Experience with high power electronics.
• Experience using RF test equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
• Experience working with systems engineers in a cross-functional team; MBSE tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Antenna Design and Development: Lead the design and development of antenna components.
• RF System Architecture: Provide major input to RF system architecture and shape future products; support design decisions.
• Technical Documentation: Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, interface definitions, and test artifacts.
• Troubleshooting: Analyze differences between simulated and measured performance.
• Testing: Conduct lab and field testing of designed components.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Primary Function:

Long Wave Inc. isseekinganearly- ormid-careerRF Engineerto take ownershipofantennadesignfor Department ofWar(DoW) programs. This role is suited for engineers with several years of experienceor advanced degree(s)whocan develop RF subsystems, manage requirements, perform tests, and document the results.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. AntennaDesignand Development:Lead thedesign anddevelopmentof antenna components.
2. RF System Architecture:Providemajor inputsto RF system architecture and shape the future ofRF productsat Long Wave Inc.Provide technicalinputsin system architecture and integration.Supportkey design decisions, conduct trade studies, and ensure solutions meet performance and safety standards.
3. Technical Documentation:Generate and maintain detailed technical documentation, including specifications, interface definitions, and test artifacts, for internal and customer use.
4. Troubleshooting:Performtroubleshootingto analyze the differences between simulated and measured performance and behavior.
5. Testing:Performlab and fieldtestingof designed components.Helpdemonstrate products and view each test as an opportunity to find new improvements.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions:

Employeewill be working within an office environment.Employeemay be expected to travel on occasion(up to 20%)to locations where specific PPE or attire is necessary.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

• B.Sin Engineering,Computer Science, orrelated field.
• US Citizenship andeligibility for aDoWclearance isrequired.
• Experience with RF Systems including design, analysis, production, or test.
• Strong technical writing skills with the ability to produce formal test documentation and reports.

Preferred Skills:

• B.S., M.S., and/or Ph.D.in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

• This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
