Job description

Position Summary

The ANSI Standards Developer Audit Consultant performs professional procedural auditing services on an as-needed basis in connection with ANSI's Audit Program that applies to ANSI-Accredited Standards Developers (ASDs) and American National Standards (ANS). The Program operates in conformance with the ANSI Auditing Policies and Procedures. The Consultant performs specific tasks assigned to them by the Director, Standards Developer Audit Program at ANSI (Audit Director).

An auditor's contract is for a maximum of one year, renewable at ANSI's discretion.



The ANSI Audit Consultant is an independent contractor and is not deemed to be an employee of ANSI.

Essential Functions

  • Review procedures and other related documentation and collect essential information to conduct thorough audits in accordance with ANSI's rules and procedures.

  • Prepare timely audit reports and other related necessary documents in connection with each audit for review by the ANSI Audit Director and/or a Lead Auditor designated by ANSI.

  • Participate in Audit-related calls and support the ANSI Audit Director as necessary providing background, data and documentation.

  • Other duties related to the Audit Program as assigned.




Successful Candidates will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, accounting or related field.

  • At least five years of experience in standards development or relevant auditing or related work.

  • Knowledge of U.S. standards systems a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

  • Strong written, analytic and verbal communication skills.

  • Project management skills.

  • Ability to solve problems independently and as part of a team.

  • Sound administrative execution.

  • Ability to work virtually and to maintain confidential documentation in an organized fashion.

  • Familiarity with Word (and templates), Excel, Adobe and SharePoint.






Qualifications


  • Experience in, and knowledge of, the voluntary consensus standards system including ANSI's criteria for accreditation of standards developers, due process, and consensus as established in the ANSI Essential Requirements (www.ansi.org/essentialrequirements).

  • General knowledge of auditing principles and methods obtained through any combination of experience, education, or ANSI training.

  • The ability to act independently and under the supervision of the Director or designated Lead Auditor.

  • The ability to analyze information and to express findings clearly, concisely, and in a timely manner in accordance with established templates and protocols.

  • The Audit Consultant agrees to treat all audit-related documents and information as confidential and not share that information with any other parties unless authorized to do so by ANSI.

  • The Audit Consultant agrees to safeguard all audit-related documentation and information and when authorized by the Audit Director destroy any documentation as instructed
