Job summary

Wheaton College invites applications for the Donor Relations Officer, Annual Giving in Norton, MA. You will develop impact communications and donor experiences that demonstrate the impact of philanthropy, strengthen donor engagement, and support retention.

With support from the Manager of Donor Communications and Stewardship, you will design and manage a stewardship program for annual donors, including first-time and loyal donors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years related experience required.
• Understanding of donor lifecycle and higher education campaign priorities.
• Experience with Raiser’s Edge to track donor activity and retention metrics.
• End-to-end event planning and VIP donor protocol.
• Strong storytelling across reports, newsletters, video scripts, web copy and social media.
• Ability to present quarterly reports to leadership.
• Excellent organization to manage multiple publication schedules and donor events.
• Ability to interview scholarship recipients for testimonials and collaborate across teams.
• Ability to work with cross-department partners to gather impact data.
• Confidential handling of donor data.
• Self-motivated to improve stewardship workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage a stewardship program for annual donors.
• Create and distribute impact reports highlighting financial aid, Life and Career Design, Athletics, and other priorities.
• Manage logistics and benefits for annual giving societies (1834 Society, Mary Lyon Leadership Society).
• Draft stewardship content with Advancement Marketing and Communications.
• Coordinate student scholarship testimonials.
• Monitor donor retention and engagement to evaluate stewardship.
• Plan and execute donor appreciation events.
• Produce financial activity reports with Leadership Giving.
