Annual Faculty - Maternity Nursing (Sacramento)

Position Overview

This is an annual, open-rank, full-time teaching position in our pre-licensure program. Responsibilities include teaching, service, and participation in program activities. The role requires on-campus/online/hybrid engagement from 3-5 days per week, with on-campus presence negotiated individually. Faculty develop hybrid and online teaching methods collaboratively. The position is open until filled and reports to the Program Director.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Teaching (92%)
  • Create a learner-centered environment using diverse teaching methods based on educational theory and evidence-based practices.
  • Serve as a coach and mentor, monitoring student progress and aiding in learning plan development.
  • Plan courses, coordinate lectures and guest faculty, administer exams, review projects, supervise independent studies, and evaluate student performance.
  • Maintain subject matter competence and participate in accreditation and review activities.
  • Engage in faculty development and ensure curriculum integrity.
  • Document student progress, support at-risk students, and coordinate clinical instruction.
  • Service (8%)
    • Participate in faculty, college, and program meetings, and serve on committees as needed.
    • Contribute to the profession and community, and support student academic decisions and resource awareness.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Master’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (preferred).
    • Specialization in teaching area.
    • Unencumbered RN license in California.
    • Recent practice experience in the specialty area.
    • Experience or commitment to higher education and current educational practices.

    Full-time, exempt, 12-month appointment. Salary range: $81,000 - $108,000, based on qualifications and location.
