Job summary

Wieland is hiring an Annealing Operator for on-site work in Reading, PA. You will start with 8 weeks of paid training on first shift at 21.70/hour, then enter a bonus pool with potential earnings of $4+ more per hour and overall wages reaching up to about $27/hour including shift differentials.

Position involves general labor tasks, safety focus, and progression to other operator roles. High school diploma required; forklift license and crane certification are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanically and mathematically inclined.
• Able to use computer operations.
• Able to learn how to read a micrometer.
• Frequent standing, bending, stooping, gripping.
• Some lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Comply with safety regulations in the plant.
• Adhere to Wieland Heyco Quality System and work instructions.
• Review the mill card prior to processing per customer requirements.
• Assist at assigned slitting machines and help with productivity.
• Handle material from slitting to shipping (banding, skidding, weighing, identifying, returning to stock).
• Complete quality checks and record information on the mill card.
• Comply with Heyco Quality System during processing.
• Keep the work area clean.
