Job summary

LifeFormations, located in Cincinnati, Ohio, is seeking a Designer or skilled 3D modeler for an Animatronic Internship (Fall). The role focuses on designing and integrating surfaces for animatronic figures, preparing models guided by real-world mechanicals, and delivering ready-to-use 3D assets for production.

You will work with Solidworks, Rhino, ZBrush, and Photoshop to create exterior surfaces and collaborate closely with mechanical and production teams to bring characters to life.

Qualifications

• Experience in product development and design thinking.
• Proficient in 3D modeling and creating design concepts.
• Able to translate real-world mechanical designs into digital models.

Responsibilities

• Design integration of composite surfaces to structures, mechanisms, soft goods, etc.
• Prepare models informed by real-world mechanical designs.
• Design exterior surfaces of animatronics using 3D and 2D programs.
• Provide production with 3D assets ready for additive or subtractive processes.
• Maintain communication with mechanical and production teams.
