Placements24 is seeking an innovative Technical Director for Animation to lead the development of robust pipelines and cutting-edge tools in Welkom. You will bridge artistic vision and technical execution, working closely with animators, riggers, and production teams to deliver high-quality results.

This senior role requires scripting expertise (Python, MEL, or C++), strong knowledge of Maya or Blender, and a deep understanding of 3D animation workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Director or similar role in animation/VFX.
• Strong scripting skills: Python, MEL or C++.
• Deep understanding of 3D animation workflows and pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and improve animation pipelines, tools, and scripts.
• Collaborate with animators to tailor technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues in animation software and pipelines.
• Implement and manage rigging systems and character setups.
• Stay updated on new animation and VFX technologies.
