Job summary

Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, WA seeks a Community Resources and Behavior Assistant to help animals and assist the community. You will conduct intakes, behavior assessments, and trainings while applying fear-free handling practices and coordinating with shelter departments.

Daily tasks include scheduling community requests, supporting dog and cat behavioral needs, recording detailed notes, and facilitating enrichment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience or training in animal welfare preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule community requests and manage animal intakes.
• Perform initial health and behavior assessments on incoming animals.
• Provide compassion to staff, volunteers, and community members.
