Our esteemed client, a trailblazing global pharmaceutical powerhouse, renowned for their expertise in developing and manufacturing a wide array of world-class pharmaceutical drugs, life-saving vaccines, and innovative animal-health products, is in search of an exceptional Animal technician to join their dynamic team.

Pay: 20-24/hr

Location: De Soto, KS

Contract: 1 Year

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the general maintenance, care, and setup of various animals for research studies
• Clean cages, pens, trays, equipment, and fittings to maintain hygienic and safe environments
• Feed and water animals, ensure their comfort and cleanliness
• Safely handle and move animals as needed
• Monitor environmental conditions and report any deviations to supervisor
• Conduct clinical observations, collect samples, monitor food consumption, and accurately record data
• Perform technical tasks according to training and under supervision
• Collect and document research data and biological specimens in compliance with GLP regulations, study protocols, and SOPs
• Ensure lab cleanliness, stock and order supplies, autoclave materials, and properly dispose of biohazardous and chemical waste
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and work with multiple animal species as required
  
  

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Life Sciences required
• 0–1+ years of related experience (a combination of education and experience will be considered)
• Experience with large food animals (e.g., cattle, swine) is required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must demonstrate a commitment to the quality care and welfare of laboratory animals
• Availability to work weekends and holidays as needed
