Job summary

Charles River Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an Animal Support Technician I to join the Insourcing Solutions team on a floater basis, primarily in Bethesda/NIH campus. You will monitor health, production and the environment across client facilities, perform essential animal care, and maintain detailed records.

Expect duties across species with adherence to safety and sanitation protocols. The role may rotate to Poolesville, Gaithersburg, Baltimore, or DC sites; most work is in Bethesda.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in biology/animal science with at least 6 months of animal handling experience.
• Bachelor's degree in biology/animal science or related field with no experience required.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain health, production and environment in client lab animal facilities.
• Provide animal care, including daily food, water, cage changes, sanitation.
• Record animal breeding, health and housing; manage equipment and sanitation.
• Assist with restraint and handling of various species as assigned.
• Follow safety and sanitation procedures in animal housing areas.
