Spokane County SCRAPS is seeking a Shelter Technician to assist with daily animal care, shelter upkeep and related duties at the SCRAPS Regional Shelter. The role involves cleaning, animal feeding and monitoring, basic medical procedures under supervision, and record-keeping to ensure welfare and compliance.

Responsibilities include assisting with foster care, transporting animals as needed, and supporting euthanasia and cremation processes in accordance with policy.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Successful completion of criminal background check required.
• Must obtain legend drug/euthanasia certificate within 6 months of employment.

Responsabilités

• Perform daily routine cleaning of animal housing areas and shelter facilities.
• Maintain animal housing areas, fencing, and surrounding grounds.
• Perform routine maintenance on kennel gates, fences, doors, and kennel machinery.
• Care for animals impounded at the shelter including feeding, watering and monitoring health.
• Perform basic health exams, vaccinations, microchip scanning, and document findings.
• Handle sick, injured, and dangerous animals as necessary and medicate per policy.
• Routinely vaccinate and microchip animals and transport for spay/neuter when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of all activities and assist with foster animals when required.
