A high school diploma is required, with no experience necessary; bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus, and a valid Texas driver’s license plus specific certifications are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No experience required; bilingual English/Spanish skills beneficial.
• Must have/obtain within timeframe a valid Class C Texas driver’s license and Animal Control Officer, euthanasia and bite stick certifications.
• Weekend/evening hours and on-call rotation; be available for emergency callback within 1 hour.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate animal-related issues and enforce local/state laws.
• Capture stray or loose animals and remove dead animals as needed.
• Care for captured animals and maintain shelter facilities and vehicles.
• Testify in court when required and participate in dispatch duties.
