Job summary

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) seeks an on-site Research Technician for the Resuscitation Science Center. You will assist in anesthesia, surgery, post-operative care, and animal handling, while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with USDA and IACUC policies.

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; Associate’s Degree in Veterinary Technology preferred; at least six months veterinary or lab-animal experience and two years of technical veterinary work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's Degree in Veterinary Technology preferred.
• Minimum six months veterinary or lab animal experience required.
• Two+ years of technical veterinary experience preferred.
• Licenses/certifications preferred upon hire (ALAT/LVT/RVT/CVT).

Responsibilities

• Assist in anesthesia, surgery, post-operative care, and animal handling.
• Maintain meticulous animal records and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor animal welfare and collaborate with researchers and veterinary staff.
• Participate in inventory and training programs.
• Follow SOPs and lab policies for procedures and data recording.
