Job summary

NOCO Humane is seeking a full-time Animal Protection and Control Officer in northern Colorado. The role involves investigating animal ordinance violations, advising the public on regulations, issuing warnings or summonses, and maintaining comprehensive records.

The position includes on-call shifts and potential court testimony as required. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, a valid Colorado driver’s license, and willingness to obtain vaccination and euthanasia

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 21+ years old for insurance purposes.
• Valid Colorado driver's license and insurable driving record.
• Prior animal control or dispatch experience is a plus.
• Willingness to obtain vaccination and euthanasia certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Investigates reports of animal ordinance violations and conducts follow-up investigations and informs supervisors of progress.
• Assists citizens with interpretation of animal ordinances and department procedures.
• Issues warnings and legal summonses for ordinance violations and testifies in court as needed.
• Maintains logs, reports and statistics of daily activity.
