Job summary

NOCO Humane in Loveland, CO seeks a full-time APC Officer to enforce local animal control ordinances and assist with dispatch duties. The role includes field enforcement, investigations, and testifying in court as needed.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a Colorado driver’s license, and the ability to obtain officer commission within three years. bilingual skills are a plus and compensation includes benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• 21 years of age for insurance purposes and a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain commission as an Officer within required time.
• One year of work experience; prior animal control/dispatch experience a plus.
• Experience reading interpretting ordinances and basic math/writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate animal ordinance violations and conduct follow-up investigations.
• Interpret and explain animal ordinances to citizens.
• Issue warnings and testify in court as needed.
• Maintain logs and reports of daily activities.
• Respond to requests from jurisdictions and departments as assigned.
• Patrol jurisdictions and promote humane treatment of animals.
• Perform dispatch duties and coordinate with Officers in the field.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain driving record.
