Position: Animal Facility Cleaner

Location: Carlsbad, CA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Salary: $17-$21 per hour

Pharmaron (Carlsbad, CA) is seeking a dedicated and reliable Animal Facility Cleaner to support our vivarium operations. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for laboratory animals and staff. The ideal candidate is comfortable with physical work and committed to high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate cage washers and autoclaves to clean and sterilize animal housing equipment.
• Dispose of waste materials in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
• Clean and sanitize tenderfoot floors, animal rooms, hallways, and support areas.
• Handle and use chemical disinfectants safely and effectively.
• Report any maintenance or equipment issues promptly.
• Work weekend or holiday shifts as needed to support facility operations.
• Tolerate and work in environments with animal-related odors and airborne particles.
• Follow all required personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.

Physical Requirements:

This is a physically demanding role that requires:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Comfort working in environments with strong cleaning agents, noise, and varying temperatures.
• Performing repetitive tasks and handling equipment that requires strength and coordination.

• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Start times can vary
• No prior experience required-training will be provided.
