Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 2 years' animal control/handling experience.
• Knowledge of GRIC Domestic Animal Ordinance and related laws.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work weekends/on-call.
• Pass background check and euthanasia certification within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Care, housing, and feeding of impounded animals; maintain kennels and equipment sanitary.
• Enforces the GRIC Domestic Animal Ordinance; issue warnings/citations.
• Investigate animal-related complaints; work under hostile conditions if needed.
• Process adoption/release paperwork; input data into database.
• Observe sick or injured animals; prepare lab specimens; euthanasia as required.
• Testify in court; attend vaccination clinics and special events.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
