This civilian position involves protecting persons and property from stray wild and dangerous animals by responding to calls for service securing animals enforcing ordinances and resolving issues involving violations and complaints
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
This position requires good physical condition including the ability and endurance to sprint lift crawl climb etc to respond effectively to calls for service capture domestic and wild animals as well as perform all duties required; the ability to work in extreme weather conditions; the ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods; must have 2040 visual acuity or correctable and adequate night vision to read addresses license tags and gather evidence; must have good olfactory sensory capability; the ability to hear in both ears sufficient to hear radio communications detect sounds and gather information related to animal control activity
Starting rate of pay is 2102 to 2437 per hour dependent on minimum qualifications and directly related experience
To qualify applicants must also be able to pass an oral board interview board a polygraph examination an extensive background investigation psychological and medical screenings including a pre employment drug test
