Boston Children's Hospital is seeking an Animal Care Technician to support animal care operations in a research setting. The role involves basic daily care of mice, maintaining a clean environment, and strict record-keeping in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm. The position requires lifting and physical tasks, attention to detail, and ability to work with a team of veterinary and laboratory staff to ensure high standards of animal welfare.

Qualificações

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail for observation and documentation.
• Physical ability to lift and move heavy cages and equipment.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble and prepare animal cages/racks and related equipment for cage change outs or new arrivals.
• Operate cage washers, tunnel washers, bottle washers, and autoclaves as required.
• Maintain clean, sanitized work areas and complete area documentation.
• Provide basic daily care and husbandry for laboratory animals (mice) and ensure proper environment and sanitation.
• Record daily health observations and report adverse findings to veterinary staff.
• Identify basic animal care issues and notify technicians as needed.
