Job summary

Charles River Laboratories, Inc. in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Animal Care Technician to ensure the health and welfare of research animals. You will perform routine husbandry, manage supplies, and maintain clean, controlled work areas.

On-the-job training is provided and the position may become full-time. No prior experience is required. The role requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and adherence to GMP/SOP procedures, with compensation in the pay range provided.

Qualifications

• No experience required; on‑the‑job training provided.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without a sponsor visa, now or in the future.
• One year of related experience and/or training in animal husbandry or an Associate's Degree or higher level education accepted.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine animal husbandry duties and monitor daily health and welfare of animals.
• Handle, transfer, and distribute animals, supplies and waste.
• Monitor animal health and environment, report abnormal findings.
• Collect health monitoring swabs and follow schedules.
• Maintain GMP/SOP procedures and keep records.
• Follow safety procedures and lift up to 50 pounds.
