Job Summary

Pay: $20.00 hourly

As an Animal Care Technician on the Adoptions team at Helen Woodward Animal Center, you will provide loving care to all adoptable animals, including feeding, grooming, cleaning and exercise. Utilizing your knowledge of dog and cat characteristics of all breeds, you will educate potential owners on animal handling and behavior, introduce adoptable animals, and detail specific animal history and information. You can make a difference by counseling clients who want to adopt an abandoned or rescued animal into a forever home.

Responsibilities

Provide quality customer service and maintain the highest level of animal welfare.

Clean animal housing, bedding, food/water dishes and manage daily records for assigned animals.

Perform basic medical procedures such as administering medication and obtaining fecal samples in a state‑of‑the‑art facility.

Travel with company vehicles to transport rescued pets back to the Center, including single‑day or multi‑day trips to the city, state and sometimes abroad. Perform temperament testing on all potential animals coming in and assist medical personnel.

Participate in Center activities and events as required.
