Summary

An Animal Care Technician is responsible for the welfare and health of animals and will work with a variety animal species. At all times, technicians must follow Standard Operating Procedures, adhere to all safety and company policies and perform duties assigned by department supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work independently and as a Team member with Integrity | Precision | Accomplishment | Principled Ambition | Respect

  • Feeding and watering of animals

  • Daily observations of animals

  • Cleaning of animal cages, pens and/or rooms

  • Room, pen and cage set-up for animal studies

  • Equipment set-up and operation

  • Assist in maintaining inventory of animal husbandry supplies

  • Maintain accurate record keeping

  • Capable and willing to work in inclement conditions, including extreme heat and cold weather

  • Compliance with federal ,state, and site regulations and guidelines (USDA, OSHA, GLP, SOP)

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED

Required

  • One-year professional animal-related experience
