Our client is seeking an Animal Health Technologist responsible for providing veterinary health care services to laboratory animal populations under the supervision of an Animal Resources Veterinarian or Senior Animal Health Technologist.
The role involves assisting in preventive medicine programs, including physical examinations, vaccinations, disease control, health surveillance, and dental prophylaxis. The technologist will also support environmental enrichment programs for all species.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining and operating the aseptic surgical suite, providing peri-operative care, assisting in animal health rounds, collecting specimens, and participating in training to enhance skills.
The candidate will administer basic veterinary treatments under supervision, ensure compliance with animal welfare regulations, and maintain accurate records. Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and off-hours as needed is required.
Associate or bachelor's degree in veterinary animal health technology or equivalent, with at least one year of practical experience. AALAS certification is preferred.
