Job summary

Visitthefarm is seeking help to care for animals on a real working farm in New Hampshire. The role offers 24-32 hours per week with a potential path to full-time for the right person, and no prior paid experience is required.

You’ll learn hands-on animal care on horses, cattle, other livestock, and wildlife, while supporting farm events and seasonal activities. The position emphasizes reliability, physical endurance, and teamwork in an outdoor setting.

Job description

We’re looking for someone who genuinely wants to work with animals and is ready to learn the real, hands-on side of farm and wildlife care. This is a real working farm – we run our own hay operations, host farm events year-round, and ramp up hard for Christmas season with sleigh rides whenever we get snow. No prior paid experience required, but you should be someone who’s serious about this as more than a summer gig.

What you’ll do:

You’ll learn to independently care for our full animal collection – horses, cattle, other farm livestock, and North American wildlife species. Day to day:

• Feed and clean animal habitats daily
• Maintain animal facilities, exhibits, and enclosures
• Help prepare animal diets
• Assist with enrichment activities
• Support our vet with animal care as needed
• Help out during farm events, including our Christmas season and sleigh rides

What you need:

• No experience necessary – we’ll teach you
• Physically able to work outdoors in every season
• Reliable transportation, shows up when scheduled
• Able to take ownership of daily tasks without close supervision
• Comfortable working as part of a team, around visitors
• Weekends and holidays – animals need care every day
• Must be 18 years or older

Schedule:
