Job summary

The Maschhoffs is hiring a Full Time Animal Caregiver at a sow farm near New Salem, IL to provide daily care for pigs, ensuring access to feed and water and monitoring the barn environment for welfare and comfort.

You will train to specialize in functions such as breeding or piglet care, maintain accurate production records, and support the Farm Manager in daily production and team development.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 1 year experience in the swine industry or 1 year of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and monitoring of pigs to ensure welfare and proper environment.
• Maintain accurate production records and document health events.
• Assist Farm Manager in training staff and coordinating daily production activities.
• Communicate needs to Farm Manager for feed, supplies, and maintenance.
• Perform minor maintenance and housekeeping; follow SOPs and safety rules.
• Ensure adherence to environmental and manure handling practices.
