A leading county organization seeks a dedicated individual to perform routine kennel work, including feeding and cleaning animals and assisting the public. Applicants must have a high school diploma and relevant customer service experience, with requirements for additional certification within six months of hire.
Starting Pay: $17.6514 Hourly ($36,715)
Step A: $20.6038 Hourly ($42,856)
Step B: $21.1341 Hourly ($43,959)
Step C: $21.6663 Hourly ($45,066)
Step D: $22.2288 Hourly ($46,236)
Step E: $22.8298 Hourly ($47,486)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or GED;
-AND-
Basic computer knowledge;
-AND-
Six (6) months customer service experience which included cash handling.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be certified as a euthanasia Technician by the Michigan Department of Agriculture as determined by Chief Animal Control Officer within six months of hire and willing to work weekends and irregular hours.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must possess a valid Michigan Driver’s license.
JOB SUMMARY: Performs routine kennel work including feeding and watering of animals, the cleaning of the shelter, and disposes of animals as directed using pre-determined methods. Works under the supervision of the Chief Animal Control Officer and performs related duties as required.
