Humane Society of Central Oregon is seeking an Animal Care Expert – ACE1 to maintain clean kennels, feed and water animals, and deliver daily enrichment. This role emphasizes teamwork, calmness under busy conditions, and compassionate handling.

You will support animal welfare through attentive care, observation, and prompt communication with staff to ensure a safe, welcoming shelter environment for both animals and people.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize kennels and housing areas.
• Feed animals according to established instructions and provide clean water.
• Observe animals and report changes in health or behavior to staff.
• Provide daily enrichment and physical/mental exercise for animals.
• Assist with dog playgroups and enrichment activities as needed.
