Job Summary

Position is responsible for the day-to-day care and treatment of the animals that are brought to the shelter. Position will perform duties pertaining to kennel maintenance, custodial responsibilities, and maintaining a disease-free environment for animals at the facility. Interacts with the public, fellow staff, community service, and volunteers professionally and with exceptional customer service. Is expected to work safely and maintain a consistency with ACCD vision and mission statements and beliefs, policy, and procedures. Must be able to obtain/maintain Euthanasia Certification from the Humane Society of the United States.

Ability to work from general instructions and safely operate all related equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks. May be required to work overtime which includes holidays and weekends. Must be able to communicate both in oral and written format.Work is performed in a kennel area where the incumbent is exposed to dust, noise, bending, lifting, and other hazards of a kennel environment.
