Position Overview
As an Operations Specialist in Animal Care, your primary responsibility will be ensuring proper animal husbandry and care for all companion animals and aquatic life in the Pet Care Center (PCC). You will be the main resource for animal care and maintenance, supporting the achievement of the PCC's sales and shrink goals. Your focus will include executing merchandising and inventory strategies, ensuring efficient operations, and partnering with the sales team to meet guest and pet needs. Success in this role requires a passion for animal welfare, health, and proper care, along with a positive team-oriented attitude.

Other Essential Duties
Basic Qualifications
Minimum one year of experience with companion animals and aquatic life. Knowledgeable in animal care, sales aptitude, professional appearance, and genuine interest in animals. Good communication skills are essential.
Certification
Completion and maintenance of the Petco Animal Care Certification program are required.
Education/Skills
High school diploma or GED required. Proficiency in math and basic accounting, with excellent communication skills.
Supervisory Responsibility
Work Environment
Primarily indoors, with some outdoor activities. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
