St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, NJ seeks a dedicated Kennel Attendant to provide high‑quality care for shelter animals. You will monitor behavior, maintain kennels, and ensure daily exercise and socialization in a busy, community‑focused environment.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability and a love of animals, with responsibilities spanning feeding, cleaning, handling, and client interaction. Training and teamwork are emphasized as part of daily operations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of animal care experience or related.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standard of animal care, including feeding, medicating, watering, bedding and enrichment.
• Clean and sanitize kennels, rooms, cages and equipment per procedures.
• Bathe or clean animals on a regular schedule or as needed.
• Exercise and socialize with animals while following policies.
• Observe and document illness or injuries and inform medical teams as needed.
• Restrain, confine and handle animals including those ill or aggressive.
• Ensure animal rooms and areas are stocked for daily care.
• Clean all animal areas including hallways, kitchens and outside kennels.
• Handle daily laundry tasks including washing and stocking.
• Conduct Lost and Found tours with the public.
• Be knowledgeable about policies and provide excellent customer service.
• Work cooperatively with volunteers and partners.
• Represent St. Hubert’s professionally and courteously.
