Valley Oak SPCA Corporation is seeking an Animal Care Associate to provide hands-on care for dogs and cats at our Adoption & Education Center in Visalia, California. You will feed, clean, exercise, and monitor health while supporting staff and volunteers.

This role requires weekend availability and the ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures. We offer training for motivated candidates, competitive pay based on experience, health benefits after 90 days, and a 401k plan after

• Passion for animal welfare and respect for all animals.
• Previous animal care experience preferred, but training provided.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Feed animals and prepare special diets as needed, ensuring proper nutrition for each pet.
• Clean and maintain kennels, enclosures, and common areas for a safe environment.
• Exercise and provide enrichment for animals daily, including training with treats or simple commands.
• Observe animals for signs of illness or stress and report concerns to supervisors.
• Administer medications or treatments as prescribed by the shelter veterinarian.
• Assist volunteers and adopters in safely interacting with animals.

Valley Oak SPCAis looking for a compassionate Animal Care Associate to provide hands-on care for dogs and cats at our Adoption & Education Center. This role focuses on feeding, cleaning, exercising, enriching, and monitoring the health of our animals while supporting staff and volunteers.

*Weekends are required*

What You’ll Do:

• Feed animals and prepare special diets as needed, ensuring proper nutrition for each pet.

• Clean and maintain kennels, enclosures, and common areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.

• Exercise and provide enrichment for animals daily, including training with treats or simple commands.

• Observe animals for signs of illness or stress and report concerns to supervisors.

• Administer medications or treatments as prescribed by the shelter veterinarian.

• Assist volunteers and adopters in safely interacting with animals.

What We’re Looking For:

• Passion for animal welfare and respect for all animals.

• Previous animal care experience preferred, but we provide training for motivated candidates.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, indoors and outdoors, and follow established protocols.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to walk, stand, sit, climb stairs, and lift up to 35 lbs.

• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
