Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring is seeking an Angio Technologist to perform high quality examinations and assist in interventional radiology and the cardiac catheterization lab. You will ensure sterile technique, accurate equipment settings, and patient monitoring throughout procedures.

Responsibilities include pre-procedure prep, observing patients, maintaining confidentiality, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
• Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the State of Maryland.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association).
• Cardiac Interventional Radiography or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preps patients for procedures using sterile technique.
• Observes patients during exam/procedure and reports abnormalities.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization information.
• Identifies care needs and implements interventions for diverse patient populations.
• Participates in quality improvement programs.
• Performs other duties including on-call, transporting patients, cleaning rooms, stocking supplies, and peer review.

Position Purpose

The Angio Technologist produces high quality examinations while assuring proper and professional care of the patient while in Medical Imaging Services or the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Assists physician in performing interventional radiology and cardiac catheterization procedures. This position required the application of precise positioning techniques combined with accurate settings of technical factors as well as the monitoring of equipment to insure proper functioning. Constant mental attention is required while performing studies and proper sterile technique. Accountable for the operation of equipment.

Duties

As a "Angio Technologist" you will:

• Preps patients for procedures using sterile technique
• Observes patients during exam/procedure, reporting any abnormal activity
• Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization-related information.
• Identifies care needs of patients/significant others and implements interventions and utilizes equipment necessary to meet the specific needs of the patient population served to include: pediatric, adults, and late adults.
• Participates in quality assessment and improvement programs.
• Completes other duties as assigned such as on-call, transporting patients, cleaning rooms, stocking supplies, peer review, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• Licensed Radiologic Technologist by the State of Maryland.
• If working in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, a Certificate in Cardiac Interventional Radiography or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist is strongly preferred.
• BLS certification (American Heart Association); additional Life Support training as applicable to unit requirements.

Pay

Pay Range: $35.41 - $53.12. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
