Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is seeking an Angiography Special Procedures Tech to perform high-quality imaging in the angiography suite while adhering to safety and procedural protocols. The role includes assisting Radiologists, maintaining equipment, documenting procedures, and participating in training.

The position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus with a weekend shift (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday 0600-1830) and eligibility for a Weekend Incentive Plan.

Qualifications

• Education Associate's Degree or equivalent hospital based certification.
• 1 year experience working as Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Produces timely/quality diagnostic images while operating the angiography equipment according to established protocols.
• Practices proper patient handling to ensure safety.
• Documents patient history, physician orders, and procedure logs.
• Ensures timely entry of charges and exam completions.
• Assists Radiologists in special procedure examinations.
• Maintains imaging equipment and cleans/restocks exam rooms.
• Presents exam documents/images to Radiologist timely.
• Adapts to changing priorities and supports team members.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

• Education Associate's Degree or equivalent hospital based certification.
• Experience 1 year experience working as Technologist.

(ARRT) AMER REG OF RAD TECH

Texas Medical Board License

(BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required depending on unit or department.

Job Duties

• Demonstrates the ability to produce timely/quality diagnostic images while properly operating the appropriate equipment and following established protocols in Angiography.
• Practices proper patient handling to ensure patient safety by using proper lifting/moving techniques, aids and restraints.
• Accurately documents all information pertaining to a patient's clinical history, physician order and the procedure log book.
• Ensures correct/timely entry of procedure/supply charges and exam completions.
• Assists Radiologists in the performance of special procedure examinations.
• Maintains imaging equipment in optimal order and cleans, restocks and maintains exam rooms.
• Assembles and presents all exam documents and images for the Radiologist in a timely manner.
• Displays adaptability, flexibility, creativeness, prioritization and assistance to co-workers, managers and physicians.
• Participates in educational programs, in-services and department meetings.
• Participates and assists with the training and orientation of new employees and students.
• Knowledgeable of the department performance improvement initiatives and participates in identifying and resolving issues.
• Provides timely documentation of active ARRT, TDH and CPR licenses.
