Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks an Angiography Special Procedures Tech in Dallas, TX. The role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus and a weekend shift (Sat-Sun-Mon 0600-1830) with eligibility for a 10% weekend incentive.

Requires ARRT, TDH licensure, BLS, and an associate degree or hospital-based certification. Responsibilities include producing diagnostic angiography images, patient safety, accurate documentation, and collaboration with Radiologists.

Qualifications

• Education requirement: Associate's Degree or hospital-based certification.
• Experience requirement: 1 year as Technologist.
• Licenses/ certifications: ARRT, TDH license, BLS as required by unit.

Responsibilities

• Produce timely, quality diagnostic images in Angiography following protocols.
• Ensure patient safety with proper handling and restraints.
• Document patient history, orders and procedure logs accurately.
• Enter charges and exam completions timely.
• Assist Radiologists in special procedures and maintain equipment.
• Maintain exam rooms and prep documents for Radiologist review.
• Participate in training and department meetings and continuous improvement.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Required

• Education
  Associate's Degree or equivalent hospital based certification.

• Experience
  1 year experience working as Technologist.

• Licenses and Certifications

  (ARRT) AMER REG OF RAD TECH

  Texas Medical Board License

  (BLS) BASIC LIFE SUPPORT course accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required depending on unit or department.

JOB DUTIES

• Demonstrates the ability to produce timely/quality diagnostic images while properly operating the appropriate equipment and following established protocols in Angiography.
• Practices proper patient handling to ensure patient safety by using proper lifting/moving techniques, aids and restraints.
• Accurately documents all information pertaining to a patient's clinical history, physician order and the procedure log book.
• Ensures correct/timely entry of procedure/supply charges and exam completions.
• Assists Radiologists in the performance of special procedure examinations.
• Maintains imaging equipment in optimal order and cleans, restocks and maintains exam rooms.
• Assembles and presents all exam documents and images for the Radiologist in a timely manner.
• Displays adaptability, flexibility, creativeness, prioritization and assistance to co-workers, managers and physicians.
• Participates in educational programs, in-services and department meetings.
• Participates and assists with the training and orientation of new employees and students.
• Knowledgeable of the department performance improvement initiatives and participates in identifying and resolving issues.
• Provides timely documentation of active ARRT, TDH and CPR licenses.
