Job summary

The UW Medical Center-Montlake Anesthesiology Department has an outstanding opportunity for an Anesthesiology Technician. This full-time role supports the operating room physician by preparing patients for surgical procedures and assisting in the operation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment.

Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, collecting data from monitors, and observing patients post-procedure.

Qualifications

  • AA in Biomedical Electronics or two years post-secondary with emphasis in sciences and one year of electronics service/maintenance experience.
  • Equivalent education/experience may substitute for minimum qualifications where applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot anesthesia-related equipment (blood pressure monitors, EKG/EEG, clinical analyzers).
  • Obtain blood samples and provide blood parameters as directed ( requires MA-Phlebotomy certification within first three months).
  • Perform disinfection of anesthesia equipment.
  • Perform related duties to support Anesthesia Services.

Job Description

The UW Medical Center-Montlake Anesthesiology Department has an outstanding opportunity for an Anesthesiology Technician.

Work Schedule
  • Full-Time / 40 hours per week
  • Evening Shifts
Position Highlights
  • Assist the operating room physician in preparing patients for surgical operations and procedures
  • Examine patient vital signs, gather data from monitors, assist physicians in the operation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and devices
  • Observe patients post-procedure
  • Patient age groups include newborn, infant, pediatric, and adults
Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Maintain, operate, and troubleshoot equipment used for patient care and monitoring related to anesthesia, including blood pressure monitors, EKGs/EEGs, and clinical analyzers
  • Obtain blood samples and provide blood parameters to medical staff as directed (requires MA‑Phlebotomy certification from the State of Washington within the first three months of employment)
  • Perform low‑level and high‑level disinfection of all anesthesia equipment
  • Perform related duties as trained and required to support Anesthesia Services
Required Position Qualifications

Associate of Arts Degree in Biomedical Electronics; OR two years of post‑secondary education/training with emphasis in the sciences and one year of work experience in electronics service, maintenance and repair; OR two years of experience as an Anesthesiology Technician I, Paramedic, Laboratory Technician, or equivalent

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when legal requirements apply, such as a license/certification/registration

Compensation and Benefits

Pay Range Minimum: $31.59 hourly

Pay Range Maximum: $49.48 hourly
