Job summary

Vituity is hiring an Anesthesiology System Medical Director in Milwaukee, WI. This physician-owned partnership offers autonomy, local control, and national support with a broad network of clinicians.

The role requires MD or DO, current licensure, Physician Partner status, and proven operational and fiscal leadership across multiple sites. Strong governance presence and ability to manage budgets and performance are essential.

Qualifications

• Licensed physician with MD or DO
• Must maintain medical staff privileges and comply with site bylaws
• Current, valid, unrestricted medical license in the practicing state
• Physician Partner status required
• Operational and fiscal management experience
• Ability to translate mission into actionable goals
• Experience leading multi-site practice management plans
• Ability to align MDs and PMTs to shared goals
• Strong knowledge of fiduciary duty and regulatory compliance
• Executive presence in governance and leadership forums
• Financial acumen to interpret P&L and reports
• Contract negotiations, renewals, and managed care experience
• Ability to set budgets and achieve Year One stabilization
• Ability to exceed contractual quality and operational benchmarks
• Experience with performance-improvement methodologies
• Ability to drive specialty integration across acute care
• Mentoring PMTs and MDs on performance and culture
• Recruitment, onboarding, and leadership succession planning
• Commitment to inclusive leadership and development programs
• Strong communication across clinical, admin, and executive audiences

Responsibilities

• Champion Vituity’s mission, values, and priorities
• Develop system-wide or regional practice management plans
• Align Medical Directors and PMTs to performance goals
• Ensure compliance with policies and fiduciary obligations
• Represent Vituity in governance and leadership forums
• Manage financial performance and solvency for designated practices
• Review monthly performance reports and take corrective action
• Optimize documentation, coding, reimbursement, and productivity
• Lead contract negotiations and managed care discussions
• Oversee Year One budget stabilization for new practices
• Ensure PMTs understand hospital expectations and compliance
• Drive system-wide operational and quality metrics improvements
• Lead multi-site performance-improvement initiatives
• Drive specialty integration across the acute care continuum
• Mentor PMTs and MDs on performance, culture, and outcomes
• Plan recruitment and leadership succession; promote inclusive leadership
• Maintain relationships with C-suite stakeholders and review strategy
