Job Summary:

HCA Healthcare Anesthesia Services is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join the team at HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson, FL. Hudson is approximately 30 miles north of Clearwater Beach. The ideal candidate will be Cardiac Fellowship trained or demonstrate cardiac proficiency with TEE.

Specialization: Anesthesiology, Cardiac

Highlights of Opportunity:

• Anesthesia Care Team model with 9 Anesthesiologists (3 CV and 6 General) and 22 CRNAs covering 12 ORs, EP Lab, Cath Lab, and Endo, with supervision of CRNAs at a 1:4 ratio.
• Diverse case mix including Trauma, Cardiac, Ortho, Endo, Neuro, Spine, Vascular, Bariatric, Robotics; no Peds or OB.
• Average surgical volume of 9,000 annually.
• Approximately 250 open-heart surgeries, including Cathlab and EP close to 730 annually.
• Cardiac procedures include CABG, AVR/MVR/TVR, AAA repair, Mitral Clips, Watchman, and A-fib; rarely aortic dissections.
• Work schedule averages 50 hours/week, with cardiac call at 1:3 beeper from home plus one weekend/month; additional calls are paid extra. Response time is 30 minutes.
• Hearts are usually managed solo but may have a CRNA assistance.
