Position: Pediatric Anesthesiologist

Location: Essentia Health St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth, MN

Job Summary: We seek a dedicated Pediatric Anesthesiologist to join our team of 22 anesthesiologists. The role involves administering anesthesia to infants, children, and adolescents, ensuring their safety and comfort pre-, intra-, and post-procedure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preoperative Assessment: Conduct evaluations, review histories, allergies, previous anesthesia experiences, and discuss plans with families.
• Anesthesia Administration: Develop care plans, administer anesthesia, monitor vital signs, and adjust levels as needed.
• Intraoperative Care: Collaborate with surgical teams and manage complications.
• Postoperative Care: Oversee recovery, manage pain, and monitor patients.
• Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and stabilize patients.
• Education and Training: Educate families and participate in training of staff and students.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with policies.

Qualifications:

• MD or DO from an accredited institution
• Residency in Anesthesiology
• Fellowship in Pediatric Anesthesiology
• Board certification in Anesthesiology
• Valid Minnesota medical license
• Strong pediatric physiology and pharmacology knowledge
• Excellent communication skills
