Call Schedule

• 1st and 2nd call: 7am-7pm
• 3rd call: 7am-7pm (regular weekday hourly shifts)
• 4th call: 7am-5:30pm (regular weekday hourly shift)
• Weekend and Holidays: On call 24 hours (7am-7am)

Description / Comments

The locum should ideally be able to cover 2 consecutive weeks per month, filling in when the other locum isn't scheduled. Temporary privileges can be requested for candidates with a clean file, no malpractice, and no work gaps. The need is ongoing until replacements are secured. Candidates can be Board Certified or Board Eligible.

Work Description

Primary anesthesiologist covering bread and butter surgical cases, mainly ortho and GS cases. Call includes OB and is mandatory. Candidate must reside within 15 minutes. Work as part of a multidisciplinary OR team, following directions from the Chief or Acting Chief.

Procedures and Schedule

• Expected surgeries: 4-5 cases per day
• OR Days: 100% OR and L&D, no clinic work
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7am-3:30pm, with on-call as agreed

Procedural Requirements

• Must perform all bread and butter surgeries
• Preferred procedures include OB/Gyn, ortho, general, plastic, vascular, colo-rectal, ENT, GI, Urology

Pain Management

Regional blocks are required for OR cases; outpatient pain management is not included.

Additional Details

• Patient load: approximately 4-5 cases daily, 700-800 deliveries annually
• Practice includes about 15 MDs, including per diems
• Support staff includes 2 CRNAs, anesthesia techs, PAs, nurses, OR techs, directors, and managers
• No anesthesiologists in the practice
• Part of a mid-sized group, with occasional supervision of CRNAs
• Trauma Level III with ACS
• EMR system: EPIC
